DETROIT — General Motors will end production of its slow-selling
Rainier midsize SUV in the second quarter, confirming months of industry speculation.

The Detroit automaker is shrinking
Buick to just three or four models, about half as many as the division produced two years ago.
Rainier sales were down 17 percent in 2006. The highly anticipated
2008 Buick Enclave, which is expected to raise the image of the GM brand, is due out this summer. The
new crossover will start at $32,790 and be equipped with a 275-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 with
Buick's first six-speed automatic transmission.
